The postman has been exceptionally kind recently and delivered some rather nice packages ...............

A beautifully packaged sewing pattern from Merchant and Mills. www.merchantandmills.com  Not only is it perfectly packaged and a delight to receive but more importantly the pattern is straight forward and easy to follow - perfect for a beginner.  And - an extra treat arrived - The Persephone Biannual magazine - which book to choose next!

And then followed a delightful package from the gorgeous Millie Moon Haberdashery www.milliemoonshop.co.uk in Frome.  Again, almost too beautiful to open.  But inside ..........

........ what a print.  And yet another little treat - Cloth magazine - full of inspiration.

And after some jolly hours playing with my relatively new but unused birthday present - success ............

Can't wait to start again .............. so now Vic Loves To Knit ....... and Stitch .......

This weather is certainly making everything bloom and glow ............

 Gardens are bursting with Spring bulbs although it feels like mid-summer.  Fancy having to water furiously already.  But it is worth it - just to see the smiling faces of the glorious blooms.

Spring fever.

What a perfect April we are having and to top it all we have heard our first cuckoo this morning.  Spring has most definitely sprung.

There are delights everywhere .................... from town centres ...............

to country lanes ...............

Gardens have sprung into life ...........

What a fantastic season ..............

Visions from a hot, hot, hot weekend .......

What a glorious weekend - more like mid-Summer rather than early Spring and sunny memories already ..........

And how sunshine can brighten a show jumping event and rosettes to bring home added icing to the cake ...........

New friends were found when cleaning out the water feature ..........

New 'designer' sunglasses were a must - and a bargain at £1 a pair!

There was only  one thing for Joe Cocker to do ............

It may have been hot but it didn't dull the appetite ...... from delicious almond croissants from Maison Blanc .............

To soft, delicious new season lamb, boned and stuffed with spinach and herbs and lambs kidneys .........

And a weekend wouldn't be complete without a few gorgeous chocolates would it ...........

Off we went on this mild Spring morning - Mabel and I - to one of my favourite haunts of Frome.  The Rook Lane Retro Market beckoned us .........

And very jolly it was too ............

 But after all that browsing the girls needed refreshments and where better than at the quaint Stardust tearoom ........ full of scrumptious treats ..........

And then for some wandering ............

Mabel found a new pet or two ............

But happily all that came home was a summer dress .........
