Shall I, shan't I?

Shall I, shan't I partake - I have already enjoyed a late breakfast at Maison Blanc today ....

But then it has been a very busy day of, dare I say, Christmas shopping. I had meant to take lots of lovely photos of the gorgeousness that Winchester has to offer but I was on a roll ....... but this window of white was glorious .......

I was on so much of a roll that great success was achieved .......

Busy, busy, busy ......

Christmas is coming ..... and parcels too. A lovely parcel arrived last week from The Toft Alpaca Shop and fingers itched to get started .......

Such gorgeous packaging. Good enough to be given before being made up .......

Deep, luscious colours and the softest of fleece ........

Lots of presents to knit ..... and another one finished. Hope she likes it ........

Congratulations to Wills and Kate ....

And now so many plans for them to make. Wedding venue ..... maybe tropical!

And choosing some lovely bridesmaids .......

An exotic honeymoon location. Maybe a little culture ....

Or a glorious beach.

And hopefully someone will leave something a little special ....

And for the rest of us it is a good excuse for a party.

An Autumn morn .....

A crisp, misty early morning walk for Joe - high above Salisbury ...... the new scenery is making him very regal against the impressive backdrop. Lot of new smells and burrows to explore.

No-one around for miles.

Lovely views.

Crunchy leaves to skip about in.

We must come here again .....

Water, water ........

Water, water everywhere ......

And gale swept trees leaving paths of leaves ....

Mud, glorious mud ....

So I think we need to sink ourselves into a little of this ....

Another week begins .......

Another week begun and lots to do. Only six weeks before we depart for our Christmas adventure down under so I must crack on ........ a good way to start, with a lovely frothy coffee ....

Joe has taken up his favourite morning position, after his walk, on my chair so I have to perch on the edge.

Let's start on the Christmas lists .....

And get ready for all those crafty bits and bobs ......

And look forward to the Country Living Christmas Fair .......

All over for a few weeks ......

Well, half term is over, for Mabel that is. Still can't get used to the fact that Rosie has finished school and is on a gap year, working hard with two jobs, saving for travels in the New Year. Happily only a few weeks and Mabel will be breaking up for Christmas. Hate term time with all the stresses of clock watching and the dreaded and over the top amount of homework.

So school run done, Joe Cocker walking in the forest done, and down to work, with the help of a much awaited coffee in my lovely birthday present Emma Bridgewater new design mug - Holly. It will get me in the mood for getting on with Christmas present sewing up .....

And more Christmas present knitting.

A little treat too. My guilty pleasure - magazines! And out today is the December issue of Homes and Antiques. Usually I can't wait for all the December magazines, with their pages of Christmas beauty and inspiration for decorations, food, presents and fashion, but this year will be slightly different - we are away for Christmas and New Year. Down under. Soaking up those rays, eating Christmas lunch by the pool ..... how strange it will be but great fun, spending time in beautiful Sydney with my sister and family. But what to do here - to decorate or not - and to what extent ........
Let's see what this gorgeous magazine has to offer and tempt me with .....

Weekend memories.

Here we are again. Another week, and indeed another month. How did that happen! Hope you had a good weekend. Mine started with a trip to Frome on a sunny Saturday morning to visit The Vintage Bazaar. I was like a child in a sweetshop and never actually got to taking any photos of all the fab stalls as I was too busy looking and investing in the odd Christmas present. I even met Hen from Henhouse, whose blog I love and is a great inspiration of everything gorgeous.

I did manage a little look around Frome, a place we have visited many times on the fringes in a horsebox but have never ventured into and what a wonderful market town, just like market towns should be. Even the little coffee stall in the car park has style.
And of course yesterday was Halloween so what better bread for a Halloween Lunch but 'blood' bread. A wonderful beetroot loaf picked up in a gorgeous little deli/cafe in Frome.

Blood red strawberries to go with ghostly white meringue, following a stuffed pumpkin.

And how better to start another week than an early morning Joe Cocker walk in the New Forest. Shall I, shan't I, he thinks - but he hates getting his pretty little paws wet.
